Divorce Facilitation Service (Uncontested Divorce)

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Divorce Facilitation is a highly supportive process where a certified mediator ("neutral") supports the divorcing couple in this difficult journey.  Divorce is hard enough, but the process can quickly escalate into an angry, EXPENSIVE process that is difficult at best. Divorce facilitation is different - through the use of a certified neutral we work as a team to navigate all of the decisions surrounding things like assets, property division, child support and visitation so that both parties feel validated, 'heard' and at peace with the final decisions.

The traditional divorce process where both parties hire attorneys can be incredibly expensive - and time consuming. It does not have to be that way! As long as the parties are open minded and willing to discuss the different areas of their separation and division of assets and parenting, this process tends to be much more peaceful, efficient and cost effective.

Our fees are a very small fraction of the traditional "lawyer" divorce process because we all work together to find resolution and get the couple to the divorce finish line. The best part? We charge a FLAT FEE so it doesn't matter if your case requires more time or we need additional mediation sessions - everything is included in one flat rate that is typically split between the parties so everyone can properly budget and plan accordingly.

Getting started is simple.  Email ashlie@pmlclaw.com to request more information or to schedule your no-risk initial consultation.  In most cases a final divorce in South Carolina takes one full year so starting the process as soon as possible is a great first step.
